My Brief Story
I am so incredibly fortunate to have had such a wide variety of experience. I try to learn from every experience I have and from every person I meet. They are what shape me. They are what allows me to bring value to others.
I grew up in Southern Ohio - free as a weed, you might say. I played soccer and wrestled throughout my youth. After graduation, I enlisted in the US Navy.
There, I attended language school and worked as a signals intelligence operator, as translator and investigator with the POW/MIA searches (JTF-FA). I spent time in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. I worked in various capacities with US Special Operations Forces in SE Asia. I have served as translator in Vietnamese, Lao and Thai languages.
After leaving the Navy I studied applied mathematics and began a new career in databases and software development. In senior technical roles I worked in various industries including defense, manufacturing, newspapers, eCommerce, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical laboratory, and transportation.
As a father of four, I coached soccer and baseball. I learned the rules and culture of an incredible sport: rugby. We got involved in sailboat racing, dirt biking, enduro racing, backcountry exploring and camping in our great public lands. I did homework with them, wrestled with them, scared them, grounded them, spoiled them, and taught them to be men. In the process I learned that it isn’t what I say to them that matters; it is how I live my life that they learn most from.
My focus now is business leadership. I have set out to build Mauka Technology in order to deliver unprecedented value to American companies. I am creating value for our shareholders and employees. I am doing my part to help America continue its economic strength and leadership through our own innovation and through the services we provide our customers.
I am driven by purpose. I live a blessed life. I have left few stones unturned. Helping others is the key to happiness and a meaningful, well-lived life. I will continue the learning, adventure and service that I have made a habit.
Let’s do something really interesting and meaningful together. Reach out.
